The society dates originally from the 1950s, and was re-incorporated under the provincial Societies Act in 1999 as a non-profit charitable organization

Membership, which is free of charge, is open to everyone over the age of 18 who resides in the area of Hall’s Harbour and its surrounding neighbourhood.

The Society operates the Fundy View Community Centre, a large building with kitchen facilities in the heart of the hamlet. The Community Centre serves as a hub and gathering place for members and Harbour residents, both year-round and seasonal. It also hosts, free of charge, the meetings and activities of a number of other Harbour organizations.
