Stan Carew at Fundy View

A delighted crowd laughed, sang along, and rose to its feet for a standing ovation as CBC personality Stan Carew and his musical Magpies gave a concert at the Fundy View Community Centre on Sunday, June 8. There was something for everyone in the group’s eclectic mix of songs and stories.

Emcee Janet Hawkins, the concert’s chief organizer, got her own share of laughs as she introduced the group. Carew and the Magpies, who said they had never visited Hall’s Harbour or played in a venue quite like Fundy View, enjoyed themselves hugely, and promised to be back. We’ll hold them to that promise!
